Corrosivity of water for concrete and metal water resources infrastructure with modification of the DIN Method and Langelier Saturation Index of Metcalf and Eddy

Abstract Corrosion or rust is an endless problem, both in Indonesia and the world. This so because corrosion very detrimental, especially if it occurs water infrastructure, particularly one built from concrete metal. a decrease material quality due to reaction with environment. The kinds of losses incurred infrastructure resources include reservoir collapse acceleration dam, damage turbine, irrigation gates. research was conducted determine level corrosivity metal 9 (nine) reservoirs. primary data consist parameters, determined by sampling water. storage preservation methods samples were done accordance Indonesian National Standard Number 6989.57:2008. Water tested accredited laboratory. Corrosivity for calculated using Metcalf Eddy formula (2003) modification DIN 4030 method (2008), respectively. results calculation Eddy’s LSI show that reservoirs had potential ranging mild severe lime/crust formation. Based on 7 (seven) did not have but 2 (two) moderate level.
